Presentation

In the continuity of its environmental initiatives, the commune of Châtel, which has been awarded the "Flocon Vert" label, presents the composting garden!
Three composting gardens installed at the primary school, in the Petit Châtel park and next to the Villapeyron sawmill offer an optimisation of household organic waste on a local scale but also allow for a participative approach to shared gardening.

What is it exactly?

A place to collect organic waste and compost, but also a shared garden.
The way it works is simple: a compost bin is placed in the centre of the garden, which will then be fed by the organic matter.
The shared garden can, for example, be equipped with aromatic herbs that are freely accessible.

What do we put in the composter?

- peelings
- eggshells
- dry bread
- leftovers (without meat)
- coffee grounds
- tea bags
- dead leaves
- wilted flowers
OpeningsFrom 01/01 to 31/12.
