The Châtel ski area offers a wide range of superb holidays and magnificent opportunities for skiing, both for those who come for the life and scenery on the mountain and those looking for that ultimate experience on the slopes!
The Châtel ski area extends across Super-Châtel / Barbossine and Linga / Pre la Joux/ Plaine Dranse sectors linked together with Portes du Soleil and Gabelou chairlifts. It offers 41 ski lifts and 44 ski slopes.
On the Super-Châtel sector, ideal for beginners with its many green and blue slopes, you'll find a snowpark, a DVA park and a speed slope.
This sector is directly linked with the Swiss ski resorts of Morgins (via the Chalet Neuf skilift) and Torgon (via the Tour de Don skilift). From Torgon you can then reach the Chapelle d'Abondance ski area.
It is accessible either by the Super-Châtel cable car located in the centre of the village, or by the Barbossine chairlift at Petit-Châtel or by the Portes du Soleil chairlift at Vonnes.
The Linga / Pré la Joux / Plaine Dranse sector will delight intermediate and advanced skiers with its many long red and black slopes. It is directly linked with the Avoriaz ski area from the top of Rochassons chairlift via the red slope of "Chaux Fleurie" or the bleue slope "Grand Plan".
At the bottom of the sector, at Pré la Joux, a carpet, two skilifts and the Pierre Longue chairlift are serving green slopes ideal for beginners.
Without forgetting the fun slope La Belette which is a delight for children.
It is accessible either by the Linga gondola or by the Pré la Joux and Pierre Longue chairlifts at Pre la Joux, or by the Gabelou chairlift at Vonnes.
The Espace Liberté ski area
The Espace Liberté ski area extends across Châtel, La Chapelle d'Abondance, the Swiss resort of Torgon and the Corbeau sector of the Swiss resort of Morgins.
It offers: 76 ski slopes, 2 kindergarten and 59 ski lifts.
