In 2022, more than 130 athletes from 15 nations will gather in Morgins for two World Cup ski mountaineering events - a Sprint and an Individual long distance!
Région Dents du Midi has long been a prized destination for ski mountaineering and the preferred training ground for locals and elite athletes alike. Already, in 2008, we became the first Swiss destination to host a ski mountaineering World Championship event.

Over the years, ski touring has become one of our most important tourist attractions. Thousands of ‘skinners’ flock to Morgins every year for the exceptional conditions and terrain that appeals to both beginners and world-class athletes.

Events :

For the Sprint, only the top 150 professional World Cup athletes will participate. This event will take place in the afternoon, two days before the Individual Race on Saturday.

The Individual will be held in the area near the Bellevue Peak, a logistically massive event involving nearly 400 athletes and some 100 volunteers. This is a classic Individual Race, not a ‘Patrouille’, or military patrol-type race. This means that several categories will be spread over a single course, enabling us to welcome 150 professional athletes and 250 amateurs who will get the exciting chance to pit themselves against the racing times of the world’s best skimo athletes.

Programme :
Thursday January 27 from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm – Sprint Race
Saturday 29 January from 9 am to 12 pm – Individual Race
Saturday January 29 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm – All-comers Open Race

Practical information:
- Registration for the popular open race will be open from 01.12.2021
OpeningsFrom Thursday 27 to Saturday 29 January 2022.
